About Southport Capital

Southport Capital was founded in 1992 by Abbie Keyes and Don Tomlin with offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Charleston, South Carolina. In 2001 the firm was sold to Livingston Company LLC located in Chattanooga.  At that time, the firm added the investment advisors of Curtis W. Seiler and Clay Parker, along with research and support staff.  Mr. Keyes retired in 2006, while Mr. Tomlin still maintains a Charleston office.  In 2008, Livingston Company sold their majority interest in Southport to Horizon Fund Private Equity III, and at that time opened the Atlanta office with James W. Woods as Chief Investment Officer.  Southport recently added an association with Darold C. Brooks, CFP RCA who will maintain his own company office in Marietta. Mr. Woods and marketing reps are based out of the Atlanta office which is located in Monarch Plaza in Buckhead.

Southport Capital is registered with the Securities and Exhange Commission as a Registered Investment Advisor under the Investment Advisors Act of 1940. As a registered investment advisor, Southport Capital is required by rule to adopt and enforce a code of ethics that establishes the standards of conduct expected of all employees and reflects their fiduciary duties.
