Bio
Susan merged her fee-only practice with Southport Capital in September 2017. Ms. Naive has been in the investment industry for over 30 years. Before starting Swift Creek Capital in 2010, she was a partner/owner in investment advisory firms in the Flathead Valley area of Montana for seventeen years and in California prior to that.
As an investment advisor for over 27 years, Susan has developed a common-sense approach to wealth management. She will help you focus on what is important to you with the aim to create a portfolio mix that matches your financial objectives while maintaining a level of risk with which you are comfortable. Susan’s personal philosophy is that each person deserves her upmost respect and service. Her passion for her clients drives her to do her best to offer completely independent and unbiased advice.
Susan has been involved with the Bigfork Chamber of Commerce, the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center, Leadership Flathead and served on the Board of Directors of the Glacier Symphony and Chorale. She currently serves the Whitefish Credit Union as a member Supervisory Committee and is on the board of The Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts Foundation. Her commitment to service of others is a primary joy in her life.
Susan has resided in the Flathead Valley for over 25 years with her husband, Greg. They have two grown children and her newly found empty nest lifestyle affords her time to explore her favorite hobbies: touring Northwest Montana especially Glacier National Park, genealogy, scrapbooking and hand crafts. She has a keen awareness of children with autism and is also involved with Hospice in the Flathead Valley.

Cody was born and raised on a horse ranch just outside of Missoula, Montana. At an early age, he was taught the importance of integrity, work ethic, and community. A Montana State University graduate and former football student-athlete, Cody holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with a well-grounded process that allows him to serve his clients on a broad range of financial planning topics, from investment planning to risk management to estate planning. Cody and his wife, Sarah, enjoy many of the outdoor activities the great state of Montana has to offer.

Clay joined Southport Capital in 2001. Clay began his investment career at Merrill Lynch in 1996 and also served as Vice President of Trust Investments at SunTrust Bank. Before initiating his investment career, Clay enjoyed success as a Major League baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, and Seattle Mariners. He received a Bachelor’s in General Education from Louisiana State University where he played football and baseball for the Tigers. Outside of work Clay has been involved in various ministries along with speaking engagements. Clay also assists with kid’s sports clinics.Clay joined Southport Capital in 2001.
