Originally from northern New Jersey, Corey moved to Chattanooga in 2015 and now very much embraces the challenge and fun of raising his three teenaged boys. Living in an all-male household, it’s constant weightlifting, firewood chopping, video games, and wrestling.
When he’s not shopping for more food, Corey can be found at the gym, reading next to the firepit, meal-prepping for the week, or honing his woodworking skills in his workshop.
Wendy joined the Southport Capital team in 2016 as additional operational support. She
graduated Young Harris College in 2005 with an Associate’s Degree in Art. Prior to joining
Southport, she had three years financial experience in public banking and several years in administration. During her down time, Wendy enjoys reading, fishing, hunting, watching baseball and sharing time with the ones she loves, especially her son, Jace.

By education, Joel is an Industrial Engineer and has an MBA. That laid the foundation for his approach to long term, process-based Retirement Planning. Because of the Country’s need for Soldiers, Joel joined the Army National Guard at the age of 30 and is now a Major in the Reserves. As an Officer, he has become an expert teacher and leader. Joel has a wife of 12 years and a daughter that is 9. They reside in Franklin, TN.
Out of college, Joel spent 15 years in the Energy Industry, primarily with Johnson Controls and Trane. In 2011, he formed The Inspired Workplace, an employee engagement consulting company. In 2018, Joel began formally advising clients on their insurance and retirement needs and is now an Investment Advisor with Southport Capital.
Through community based Social Security Workshops, Joel is able to directly help people understand the complexities of Social Security. This, in turn, leads to being able to integrate Social Security and other income streams into the decision-making process for potentially one of the best times of one’s life: Retirement!
